Our team has been working hard on Onware version 9! We are excited to share with you our updated progress!
Consistent standardization across Onware:
In version 8, did you ever have difficulty figuring out which category the document you were looking for was in? We heard your feedback…
Improved categorization of documents, coupled with a short description of the purpose of each document, we are confident this re-designed Navigation Menu will assist users in locating their project documents more quickly.
Worried there are still “too many clicks” to accessing the document you use frequently? We’ve taken care of that also with Favourites! For documents you access frequently, add and organize your Favourites for quick and convenient access.
NOTE: Favourites display on the Home screen once a project is selected.
Customer feedback on the Version 8 implementation of comments has been well received, but it was evident more could be done to improve this feature. In Version 9, comments:
In version 8, Onware determined which documents could be linked to each other. If you wanted to cross reference, or link, a different document that Onware did not provide linking functionality for, you could not!
Need to link an RFI to a Progress Claim? You can! Want to cross reference a Meeting to a Submittal? Yes – it’s possible in Version 9!
We continue to work hard on completing the development of the remaining documents in Onware and communicate our progress with you.
Very soon we will be reaching out to each of our Customers to initiate an implementation plan to ensure a smooth transition.
]]>It’s not just a new version, it’s a re-build from the ground up.
Our team has been working hard on Onware version 9! We are excited to share with you our first progress update on this highly anticipated version!
At present, Onware version 9 is dominating our day-to-day work, investing well over 1,600 developer hours since February. Our to-do list currently contains over 975 changes and we are well on our way towards completion.
Highlights of the work that has been completed to date:
Recently, we produced a series of quick 3-5 minute how-to videos for use in Onware training and launched our YouTube channel. Thank you for the great feedback received thus far! We are looking forward to expanding and refining this offering over time.
In parallel with Onware Version 9, we are also consolidating, updating, and refining our documentation and users guide into a new guide that will be available online and in PDF format.
While working on Version 9, we have not stopped with Version 8. Below, is a timeline of Onware releases. As you can see, even though we are focused on version 9, we continue updating version 8 when needed.
One of the highlights of the last few releases is that we have doubled upload speeds for Cloud customers, going from 36 min for an 85 MB file down to 14 min.
As we complete the initial Version 9 release, we are also reviewing our list of customer requests, and as always, incorporating your feedback. After Onware 9 goes live, we will not slow down, and continue refining and improving.
Going forward, we will continue to communicate our progress, as well as organizing opportunities for demos and training. We will also be providing early access to version 9 in a test environment so you have a chance to check it out before release.
]]>When an RFI is issued from the General Contractor to a Sub-Consultant’s discipline, the Sub-Consultant must provide a response before the Prime Consultant can action the RFI, continuing the project workflow.
Once all responses from the requested disciplines have been received, Onware generates an alert for the Prime Consultant, advising that all responses have been received.
The Prime Consultant can view all responses and choose one of two actions:
The Prime Consultant can be added to an E-mail Subscription, within the project, which sends the Prime Consultant an e-mail notifying a response to an RFI, has been received. The E-mail Subscription is a notification, thus does not alter the workflow of the project.
The General Contractor can only read the responses to the RFI once the Prime Consultant has returned the RFI to the initiator (General Contractor).
If the General Contractor views the RFI from the RFI Browse/Search screen prior to the Prime Consultant’s action, the General Contractor will only be able to view the question posed.
When viewing the RFI from the Browse/Search screen, the search table displays:
