    New Functionality

    Package and Email Package

The UCR Search page has been refreshed to include the “Package” and “E-mail Package” functionality. Like the “Package” option, E-mail Package combines PDF documents into a single PDF, but does so behind the scenes, allowing you to work on other documents and tasks in Onware.  When it is complete, it automatically sends you an e-mail with the combined package of PDF documents.
    Things to Consider
    • Non-PDF attachments, such as images, are not included in the package of documents
    • E-mail attachment size limits are still applicable when sending the E-mail package

    Enhancements available in 9.21.0

    New Setting: Require Reason

A new setting, called “Require Reason”, is available in version 9.21.0.  When enabled, either globally or on a per project basis, the “Reason” field in a UCR will be mandatory to complete prior to issuing.

    New Field: Time Impact Field

In cases wherein it is anticipated the project’s schedule will be affected by the described, the General Contractor Project Manager can document the impact using the new “Time Impact” field. “Time Impact” details are copied into a Quotation when a Change is created directly from the review of the UCR.

Ability to create a UCR on behalf of the General Contractor Project Manager

Contract Administrators now have the ability to create a UCR on behalf of the Contractor. When a UCR is created on behalf of a General Contractor Project Manager, two fields “Issued By” and “Issue On” are required to be completed prior to issuance, to document who and when the UCR was received.

In addition to the enhancements above, Contract Administrators can now adjust certain fields when reviewing a UCR.]]>

Important Update: IE11 End of Support for Onware

Since the release of Microsoft Edge in 2015, Internet Explorer has not received major updates, nor added support for many web standards and we’ve seen a decrease in IE 11 usage from our users over time. In addition, Microsoft encourage Windows users to take advantage of Microsoft Edge as their default browser.

In order to continue to take advantage of the modern web standards, allowing us to deliver improved functionality and user experience, we have decided to end our support for IE 11 effective November 1, 2019.

This means that we will no longer fix bugs that are specific to IE11 and will begin to introduce new features and functionalities that may not be compatible with this browser.

With that, we recommend that you switch to one of our supported browsers, such as Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox before November 1, 2019.

    E-mail Package https://onwarepast.plaidphotography.com/2019/10/01/e-mail-package-2/ Tue, 01 Oct 2019 22:27:18 +0000 https://test.onware.com/?p=5557

    Introducing E-mail Package!

New in 9.20.0, E-mail Package provides the flexibility to generate a combined package of documents, without waiting for it to generate immediately.

Like the “Package” option, E-mail Package combines PDF documents into a single PDF, but does so behind the scenes, allowing you to work on other documents and tasks in Onware.  When it is complete, it automatically sends you an e-mail with the combined package of PDF documents.

Similar to E-mail Subscription, when the e-mail is received, you can access the document by:

    1. Opening the attachment
    2. Downloading the Package by selecting the file link
    3. Downloading the entire package as a zip file

E-mail Package functionality available in 9.20.0 is available in the Change Order document only, however, the functionality will be implemented throughout all documents in future releases.

    Things to Consider

    • Non-PDF attachments, such as images, are not included in the package of documents
    • E-mail attachment size limits are still applicable when sending the E-mail package

    Progress Claim Enhancements https://onwarepast.plaidphotography.com/2019/10/01/progress-claim-enhancements/ Tue, 01 Oct 2019 20:55:00 +0000 https://test.onware.com/?p=5541

    Progress Claims

New Functionality and Enhancements available in 9.20.0

Manage Timelines with a Review Due Date

In anticipation of the prompt payment provision of the Ontario’s Construction Act effective October 1, a “Review Required By” due date has been introduced to assist in managing review timelines for your project’s Progress Claims.

In addition, configure the “Default Review Required By Duration” setting per project or across all projects, new in 9.20.0, to pre-set the “Review Required By” date when a new Progress Claim is initiated.  The date populated is determined by the initiated date of the Progress Claim + number of days set in the setting.
e.g. Setting is set for 7 days and the Progress Claim initiated 10/01/19, the “Review Required By” date will auto-populate a date of 10/08/19.

    Improved Associated Change Order section

Have you been confused why a Change Order seems to display repeatedly in a Progress Claim?  The visual display of Change Order information in the “Associated Change Order” section of a Progress Claim has been improved to eliminate this confusion!

Each Change Order can now be expanded to display the Change details associated with the Change Order.

Want to display the Change detail for all Change Orders?  We’ve got that covered also!  You can expand one Change Order individually, or select the expand option in the header row of the Change Order section to Change details display for all Change Orders!

Further, we have adjusted the “Add” to be more visually prominent and consistent with our other buttons.

    Workflow Adjustments

Version 9.20.0 includes improvements to the Progress Claim return workflow, based on your feedback. We recommend reviewing the “Things to Consider” section below to review how these adjustments may impact your current projects.

The “Return” status has been renamed “Request Revision” to standardize the workflows of revisions within Onware.

When requesting a revision, the “Reason for Revision” must be completed.

Once a Progress Claim transitions to “Revision Requested” status,  Action Item will now be sent to all General Contractor Project Manager, allowing any General Contractor Project Manager on the project to Action.

    Things to Consider

    • “Default Review Required By Duration” setting is disabled by default
    • Custom Forms will need to be amended to include “Reason for Revision” field and “Review Required by”, if applicable
    • Progress Claims in “Returned” status will automatically adjust status to “Revision Requested” upon 9.20.0
    • “Private Comments” text previously entered will not populate into the new “Reason for Revision” text box for Progress Claims created prior to 9.20.0
